The first Amazon Note for Season 3 has been revealed, and it’s not what you think

Judging by the various segments of outrageous boys which hit Prime Video over the course of two and a half seasons, it makes sense that the player isn’t blocking show creatives in many ways related to the content. Eric Kripke, the showrunner behind the show, says Prime Video has one note for the show’s third season, but it’s not exactly what you’d expect.

With an episode showing The Deep (Chace Crawford) having sex with an octopus, Kripke says Prime wanted them to include a disclaimer before things started in the episode.

“I didn’t get any opposition from Sony and Amazon about anything we wanted to do. I’d say the most we got is this season, and they said, ‘Hey, can we give viewers some kind of advice about Depp?'” [sexual relationship with an octopus?]And that’s literally it,” the writer said in a lengthy interview with rolling rock.

He added, “This is the most I’ve had in three years. Internally, the writers really bother them all this. As crazy and crazy as the show is, we honestly worry a lot about being exploitative and gratuitous, making sure it looks like an intense show and not like soft porn on Cable late at night, you know?, so we worry about it a lot.

When we spoke with the writer earlier this month, he told us that Prime Video “never literally told us.” [him] number.”

“We really agonize over where the line is, because we never want to cross the line from outrageous to complimenting or exploitative, cheap or horrific for the sake of shock,” Kripke said at the time. “There’s an incredible amount of anxiety, hand squeezing, guesswork, second guesswork about where it should be, because I really think what we’ve come to realize is that no one’s really going to tell us, so we have to understand that the more I can take those banana moments , but make it personal, and to the point where you can’t tell a character’s story without it. That’s often the best we’ve got, so we aspire to the who-that.”

The five four episodes of boys Season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video. New episodes scheduled for release every Friday.
